25-year-old Emily earns $7,000 a month from her side hustle -while working a full-time job! Here’s how

Just days before the pandemic hit in March 2020, I began my first full-time job as an advertising and marketing coordinator at a dental office in Columbus, Ohio, wherein I had an annual profit of $34,500.

Every day, the office was booked with customers trying to get tooth whitening and veneers. But because the pandemic intensified and masks became mandatory, I remember thinking: Why are these types of human beings scheduling cosmetic work for their teeth when their smiles are hidden at the back of masks?

It became clear how substantial of an impact the upper part of our faces has on our expressions. I discovered myself fixated on analyzing human beings’ emotions, primarily through their eyes and brows.

So I started researching microblading, a semi-permanent brow-enhancement process wherein small strokes — in the form of individual hairs — are tattooed in the eyebrow areas.

Microblading is a semi-everlasting brow-enhancement process wherein small strokes — in the form of individual hairs — are tattooed withinside the eyebrow areas.

When I wasn’t operating a dentistry shift, I attended microblading classes. For months, I practiced for several hours every day.    Eventually, what started as interest turned into a profitable side hustle. I saw an average of 5 customers a week, making at least $7,200 per month.

In June this year, after three months of juggling both jobs, I decided to stop my day task and turn my microblading side hustle into a full-time business. I named it Columbus Cosmetic Ink.

Today, I make about $8,750 every month in sales, which includes tips — triple what I earned on the dental office job.           Of course, some challenges include running your very own company. But at 25, I recognize there’s much more to learn as I develop my business. The most crucial element is that I’m the happiest I’ve ever been.
