21 Year old University dropout earns six-figure salary a year! Here’s how-

A 21-year-old who dropped out of university to become an entrepreneur has made six figures in less than a year. Olivia Crabtree started in the business by making small handmade gifts, which she sold on Etsy in the hope of making £40 a week to pay for her food shop while at the University of York.

But the business took off much quicker than expected, and the 21-year-old was earning a full income within three months. With money steadily rolling in, Olivia took the plunge and dropped out of university.

However, things did not go as she might have imagined. “I started my business with financial motivation in mind,” she said. “I didn’t have a real passion for it, so when I went full-time I lost my love for it.”

While Olivia was feeling unhappy with running her Etsy store, she found something else within the process that she did fall in love with – helping other people. “As it was so successful in such a short space of time, I was handing out advice and tips to other Etsy sellers, who were coming back to me saying that my help had massively increased their sales,” said Olivia.

“It was 11 pm on a Friday when I spontaneously decided to set up a small business tips Instagram page to help others out. After around a month of sharing free tips, someone suggested I write an Etsy eBook – which I did. “I launched the eBook and earned more in that first 24 hours than I ever had from any other job before.”

As profits from ‘The Small Business Handbook’ began to grow, Olivia took another brave decision and shut down her Etsy store. She has not looked back since and recently released a range of planners and journals to help people on their business journey.

The ‘Dream, Plan, Do’ planner is one of The Small Business Handbook’s bestsellers, and covers all aspects of business planning – including target market definition, USPs, SEO, and branding concepts.

Olivia also offers ‘masterclasses’ described as a range of informative sessions designed to teach people about business management, from generating sales to social strategy.
